Ellen Belfi
Director
I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for the past twenty years. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and an MA in Organizational Management. As Director, I am able to enjoy the children, staff, and dream big visions.

I grew up in the mountains of East Tennessee, married, and have two grown sons. My husband and I have been deeply involved in our church in the healing ministry. I also minister through music-organ and piano, praise, and worship.

I love to see children learn about themselves, the world around them, explore, and be wide-eyed with wonder. I love to learn new ideas, new techniques, and ways of interacting that will enhance the whole early childhood education experience for the children, staff, and parents.
Teachers and Supporting Staff

Miss Michele
Hello, I am an Assistant Teacher for the Preschool class. I enjoy working and teaching children.
Working at Epworth Day School is not just a job, but a ministry of teaching the children the ministry of Jesus Christ.
I am originally from Portsmouth, VA. I attended Norfolk State University and studied Business Management.
I enjoy music, reading, dancing, and collecting old books. My passion is studying the Word of God.

Miss Deanna
Hi I'm Deanna,
I currently attend Old Dominion University, majoring in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. After obtaining my degree, I plan to start a career in Children's counseling. I have worked with children a little over 4 years. I love seeing children grow and learn more about themselves. In my free time, I like to play volleyball, go on adventures and explore the world.

Miss Claudine
I studied early childhood education at Tidewater Community College. I've worked in the childcare field for over 25 years. I love what I do, watching children grow, and knowing that I play a big part emotionally, physically, and mentally in their lives. When I'm not working I enjoy relaxing, reading, watching movies, and taking walks on the beach.

Miss Raven
I came to EDS with more than 5 years experience in childcare. I enjoy watching children experience and learn new things as they get older every day. I love being the reason a child loves coming to daycare every day.

Miss Morgan
I love what I do. I am a San Diego, CA native, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. I packed my bags a few years ago, and moved to Virginia, and jumped right into doing what I love. I’ve worked in in-home schools and accredited centers and each one has allowed me to watch young minds grow. Every experience I have had has allowed me to grow and given me the chance to scaffold children in their new discoveries. I wouldn’t change this journey a bit, and can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Miss Ferebee
It is truly a blessing to be part of the Epworth family and the lives of so many beautiful children. I enjoy watching the children grow and witnessing their early steps and words.

I love reading and studying the Bible, African American history, and music. Seeing children smile and hearing them laugh is the best part of my day.

Miss Linda
I am the lead teacher of the infant room. I have been working with children for over 20 years. I have my AAS in Early Childhood, which I acquired from Tidewater Community College in 2003 with honors.

I love working with children. It is my passion. I am a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child and to see a smile on a child's face just brightens my day and my heart.

Miss Asia R.
My name is Asia Rogers. I am currently in college at Mary Baldwin University. I am a Junior majoring in Social Work. I have lots of years of experience working with Child Care and Interaction. I want to work with children because I love helping them and I am planning on becoming a school social worker.

Miss Beth
I am one of the teachers in the Toddler Room. I graduated from Portsmouth Christian School in 2004. I studied for 2 1/2 years at Bob Jones University. I worked in child care centers for 16 years, with all ages 6 weeks to Jr. high school students. I have always loved working with kids. Even in my early teen years, I was babysitting and volunteering in my church's nurseries. I enjoy seeing how kids view the world and the things they say. I love reading, listening to music, and hiking in parks.
